Promo codes 

Zonos Checkout supports using promo codes to offer discounts, specials, and coupons to your shoppers. Promo codes can be configured through Dashboard and can be set up in a variety of ways to help you offer the exact kind of promotion you want. When a promo code exists and is active, it can be used by shoppers in your checkout by entering the code and clicking Apply.

Types of promo codes 

Promo codes can be either an amount or percentage off of the following fields on an order:

  • Order total
  • Cart total
  • Shipping total

Apply to SKUs

In addition to the above parts of an order, promo codes can be applied to specific SKUs. This is useful if you are trying to offer a more targeted promotion for certain products. To use this functionality, set “apply to” to be “Specific SKUs” and then enter your list of SKUs, separating each with a | character.

Usage limits

By default, a promo code can be used unlimited times by unlimited users. To change this behavior, you can specify a limit per user and/or a global usage limit. The “limit per user” functionality restricts promo code redemptions by shopper email address. In comparison, the “global usage limit” does not care about individual users and instead just stops promo code redemption after the specified amount of uses. These options can both be used at the same time.

Timed promo codes

Promo codes can have a start and end date, which allows you to create seasonal or timed promo codes which are only valid within a certain time frame.

Enabling and disabling promo codes on your checkout 

To enable and disable the promo code functionality of Zonos Checkout:

  1. Log in to your Zonos Dashboard account
  2. Select SettingsCheckout settings
  3. Toggle the “Enable promo codes” checkbox in the “General” section
  4. Click Save in the “General” section

Creating promo codes 

To create a promo code from Dashboard:

  1. Log in to your Zonos Dashboard account

  2. Select SettingsPromo codes

  3. Click Create promo code

  4. Specify the “code” part of your promo code

    • This is what will be entered by shoppers to redeem the promotion
  5. Fill out the rest of the form with your desired options to configure your promotion

  6. Click Save promo code

Deleting and inactivating promo codes 

To delete a promo code entirely:

  1. Log in to your Zonos Dashboard account
  2. Select SettingsPromo codes
  3. Select the promo code you want to delete
  4. Click Delete

If you do not want to delete a promo code, perhaps to keep it around to be used again in the future, you can instead simply mark it as inactive. To do this:

  1. Log in to your Zonos Dashboard account
  2. Select SettingsPromo codes
  3. Select the promo code you want to inactivate
  4. Clear out the “starts at” date and enter an “ends at” date for some time in the past
  5. Click Save promo code
