Landed Cost for Cart.com

Integrate the Landed Cost plugin.

Before integrating Zonos Landed Cost for Cart.com, please make sure you are familiar with how the app will work:

  • Zonos will calculate landed cost (duties, taxes, and fees), then insert it directly into your native checkout. This will be labeled "Duty and Tax".
  • Zonos will calculate using the shipping options that you have set up in Cart.com. We will not calculate shipping costs.
  • Orders will appear both in Dashboard and in Cart.com.
  • Order status and tracking numbers will not sync between Dashboard and Cart.com.
  • Cart.com will communicate the products SKUs and descriptions to Zonos. If you have additional information that you would like Zonos to use in our calculations (such as a product-specific HS code or country of origin), enter that information into Catalog.
  • Hello is not included with this app. If you would like to use Hello, install Hello separately for free.

Integrate

Seamlessly integrate Landed Cost with your Cart.com store by following the steps in this section.

1

Get started

Start by completing our sign-up form. Onboarding will commence once your account agreement is in place.

2

Onboarding

Within 24 hours of signing up, a dedicated onboarding representative will contact you to kick off a tailored integration process.

Important: The steps listed below are for your reference and you will be guided through them by your onboarding representative.

3

Connect your Zonos account to Cart.com

Next, establish the connection between Zonos and Cart.com. Let us know what currency your site is in and which shipping service levels you want us to collect duties and taxes on.

  1. Log in to Cart.com, then go to StorefrontToolsApps & AddonsZonos.
  2. Copy your Zonos API key from Dashboard and input it as your API key.
  3. Type the three-letter currency code for your base currency.
  4. In the Landed cost type, check the box next to any shipping services that you want to be DDP (duties and taxes collected during the checkout). Unchecked services will still be available in the checkout, but will be DDU (an estimation of duties and taxes will appear in the checkout, but the customer will pay these upon delivery of the order).
  5. Choose your Sale type.
  6. Toggle Send order complete updates to enabled. This must be enabled for orders to appear in Dashboard.
4

Test duty and tax quotes

Test your integration to ensure it works properly during checkout.

  1. First, enable Zonos. Log in to Cart.com, then go to StorefrontToolsApps & AddonsZonos. In the top right, toggle Integration active on. This will make Zonos live on your site while you test.
  2. Go to your website and add item(s) to your cart. We recommend using a higher value (above the de minimis) to ensure that duties and taxes will be due for the order.
  3. Click Checkout.
  4. Add an international address to your checkout.
  5. Click Continue to shipping.

If set up correctly, you will see duties and taxes quoted in the checkout. If you do not see duties and taxes in the checkout, please reach out to our support team.

If you are not ready to go live yet, toggle Integration active back off after testing.

5

Test order flow through your systems

Test an order from beginning to end to ensure information flows through all of your systems as expected.

  1. First, enable Zonos. Log in to Cart.com, then go to StorefrontToolsApps & AddonsZonos. In the top right, toggle Integration active on. This will make Zonos live on your site while you test.
  2. Place an order on your site for testing purposes.
  3. Follow your test order through your systems for fulfillment, label printing, and finances to ensure there are no conflicts.
  4. To test label printing, follow the steps for where you plan to print your international labels:
    1. Outside of Dashboard: If you plan to print your international shipping labels from a system other than Dashboard, cancel and refund the order once you have confirmed the flow is working correctly within your chosen systems.
    2. From Dashboard: Confirm labels will generate successfully by printing a test label. If you have multiple carriers enabled, print a label for each carrier. You can void your label after printing it, then use the same order to test more labels. Once tested, void the label, then cancel and refund your test order. If you receive an error when printing a label in the Dashboard, learn how to resolve label errors.

If you are not ready to go live yet, toggle Integration active back off after testing.
